ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS

The establishment of Pampanga High School happened one hundred years ago. This Institution made it through a lot of experiences… wars, typhoons, disastrous lahar flows, recurring floods. Despite all of these, it still remains a pride of Pampanga. Now, we are to celebrate the 100 years of excellence in PHS Education. To produce students such as the former president Diosdado Macapagal amongst others, will always and forever give honor to the school.

PHS Sentenaryu will feature events sponsored and organized by the alumni, teachers, students and friends. The entire PHS community, the benefactors and other various groups to this end are jointly working together for the success of this celebration. Her Excellency, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo gave us the pleasure to be part of this occasion as well as one of her cabinet members, no less than the Secretary of Education, Honorable Secretary Jesli Lapus.

Guided by discipline, humility, competence, social responsibility and commitment, the PHS Sentenaryu aims to celebrate and express thanksgiving for the school’s 100 years of existence, to honor the alumni who have exemplified in their own fields of endeavor, to give tribute to the endless assistance of true friends, to give heartwarming joy and laughter to less fortunate children, to formulate a vision to the next 100 years, blending the legacies of the past, realities of the present and challenges of the future.

Now, PHS awaits for your presence…

GRAND MOTORCADE
FEBRUARY 11, 2008

ECUMENICAL CELEBRATION
FEBRUARY 11, 2008

  • A Special Ecumenical Blessing composed for the occasion will declare the opening of the celebrations. Main celebrant will be Archbishop Paciano Aniceto and celebrating with him are the school’s very own alumni priests, pastors and ministers belonging to different sects and religious denominations. This thanksgiving is centered on the theme of glorifying the Lord for the wonderful things He has done for this institution for 100 magnificent years in the Philippines. The angelic voices of the PHS students and guest singers will be heard all throughout the Celebration.

GRAND CLOSING CEREMONIES; MOVING TO THE NEXT 100 YEARS…
FEBRUARY 15, 2008

  • Months of painstaking preparation, classes ‘sacrificed’, tolerance was tested, resources spent…and for what? For a fitting closure of a week-long celebration, an accolade to 100 years of beauty, blessings and God’s glory; For the fulfillment of being part of the PHS Sentenaryu team, of thousands of tasks and responsibilities well accomplished; For everybody to witness a superb experience of a dazzling display of fireworks, a thousand and more voices to sing for their alma mater, a message and a prayer for a very memorable affair; For remarkable hours of absolute excitement; For a glimpse of history in-the-making; For a moment in time that will never be repeated. The centennial, however, is beyond the “once-in-a-lifetime” experience. This is the main reason why the denouement event in the afternoon is entitled “Moving to the Next 100 Years!” --- it seeks to honor what is good about the past and use it to move forward. The next one hundred years leads to the bicentennial. How blessed we are, therefore, to be here to mark and witness PHS SENTENARYU! Kudos to us all!
